On Sunday night, the Miami Marlins announced the call-up of infielder Connor Norby, as reported by beat writer Isaac Azout. Norby was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles at the trade deadline in exchange for starting pitcher Trevor Rogers. Alongside Norby, the Marlins also obtained outfielder Kyle Stowers in the deal. Stowers, who debuted in the majors in 2022, has played 16 games with the Marlins so far, recording five hits and three walks.

**Marlins Promote Infielder Connor Norby**
Connor Norby was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round of the 2021 MLB Draft. Over the past four seasons, he has primarily played in the minors, making his major league debut earlier this year before being sent back down. In 2023, while with Triple-A Norfolk, Norby posted a .290/.359/.483 slash line, hitting 40 doubles, 21 home runs, and stealing 10 bases. He was tied for fourth in all the minors for both hits and doubles.
The Orioles called Norby up this season after Jorge Mateo entered concussion protocol, but he only played nine games in the majors, hitting .188 with two home runs. After returning to Norfolk, he excelled, slashing .297/.389/.519 with 16 home runs and 21 doubles in 80 games. At the time of the trade, MLB Pipeline ranked him as Baltimore’s No. 5 prospect, and he led the Orioles’ farm system in combined home runs over the past two seasons.
